Workshop Blue Economy

Unlocking hidden efficiency and sustainability potential in the Water, Marine & Maritime Sector

A scenario-based workshop to strengthen cross-sector collaboration and translate challenges into action for a future-ready WMM-Sector.

You are expected to drive sustainability, innovation or change and you see the need for transformation, but in your day-to-day work, you often circle the same ideas, constraints and predictable answers?

This hands-on workshop is a structured way of stepping outside that frame. Using an intentionally stretched scenario, you'll examine your organisation through unfamiliar lenses, surface opportunities you wouldn't otherwise reach, and test your assumptions against people whose starting point is entirelydifferent. The room deliberately mixes industry, research and different corners of the sector to reveal how different perspectives can reinforce one another.

You'll leave with small, concrete steps to unlock efficiency and sustainability potential as well as collaboration opportunities you can act on the next day.

You will be able to:

  • unlock efficiency and sustainability opportunities in your operations or projects
  • apply a different perspective to increase competitiveness, innovation and strategy
  • recognise the frame you work in every day and deliberately step outside it
  • find where cross-sector collaboration beats optimising alone
  • use scenario-based thinking to explore creative ideas for adaptation and change
  • translate broad, long-term challenges into small, practical steps you can start immediately

Target Group:

The session is designed to be relevant across the full breadth of water-based Industry. Professionals working in SMEs and corporates as well as researchers in the water, marine and maritime sector, such as shipbuilding, maritime suppliers, marine technology, ports and logistics, offshore wind, fishing and aquaculture, coastal tourism, marine environmental protection, circular economy, maritime dual-use technologies, freshwater/inland operators, marine tech companies, cluster organisations.
